Azimut Fly 78

Big-yacht atmosphere with the agility of a smaller boat

The Fly 78 recreates the atmosphere of a larger yacht while keeping the sporty agility of a smaller one. It was the first boat in its category to fully separate the galley and crew areas, so service happens out of sight of the guests.

In the Full Lounge layout, the saloon becomes one large living space with rounded forms and furniture that seems to float. Achille Salvagni Architetti signed the interiors and Alberto Mancini the exterior, while three Volvo Penta IPS units and plenty of carbon fibre take care of performance.

Carbon-Tech Generation

The Fly 78 uses carbon fibre high up in its structure. Lighter upper parts, with up to 30% less weight, mean a lower centre of gravity and up to 15% less roll, so Azimut could enlarge the interiors and keep the yacht steady and responsive.

Low Emission Yacht

Three POD drives, carefully shaped waterlines and extensive carbon fibre let the Fly 78 use 20 to 30% less fuel across its usual speed range, with CO₂ falling in proportion, compared with a hard-chine, shaft-driven yacht of its size.

Active Trim Control

Aboard the Fly 78, the trim is managed for you: interceptors react continuously to keep the hull at its ideal angle and to counter heel from side winds or off-centre loads, so the yacht is easier and more pleasant to drive.

Advanced Joystick Control

Docking a yacht the size of the Fly 78 becomes intuitive: whichever way the joystick is pushed or turned, the engines move the boat the same way. Under way, the same control steers through the autopilot in steps of 1° or, if held, 10°, and keeps the chosen heading on release.

Integrated Control & Monitoring System

A tailored Garmin installation on the Fly 78 manages engines and their alarms, bilge and discharge pumps, tank levels, engine-room airflow, audio and climate control, from the inside and outside steering positions or remotely on a tablet.

Efficient Air Treatment

On the Fly 78, the Aircare Energy Saving system draws in outside air, filters it and changes the whole volume on board every two hours, which is especially welcome below deck. Zone-by-zone heat exchangers match its temperature and humidity at no extra energy cost, and the multilayer filter stops 98% of fine particles, from pollen to spores and mites.

High Technical Standard Declaration

A declaration from Azimut Yachts accompanies the Fly 78, stating that its engineering meets the most demanding benchmarks for production yachts and describing the quality materials, technology and strict testing behind it.
